Proximity

Proximity
God wants proximity with us.

The Bible is a story of God's proximity despite our failure to experience His presence. We imagine God as far away, but the epicentre of the Bible is that God became human and dwelled among us (John 1:14). In Jesus, God comes near to us. "God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Sometimes this book seems foreign and unusual. It appears to use language that is hard to understand. I imagine it like the culture shock we experience when immersed in a foreign culture. Yet, if we stick with it, don't reject it or run from it, we may discover something beautiful in the unusual. My hope as an avid traveller of the Bible is to break it down and make it more accessible. At the very least I hope to develop a curiosity in you for the beautiful truths found within its pages.

Hello! I'm glad you are here.
